I am at an event at the Comcast Center, Mansfield, MA on a Tuesday evening, I will at midnight somewhere in the past and return to the hotel to end, where my company will be attending a conference in Newport Harbor is Newport, Rhode Iceland. Is it possible to use public transport? Or do I take a taxi?

You should seriously consider renting a car at a low price just for the day. Newport is 40 miles from Providence. You can take the train because the last train leaving Boston as a rule, at midnight, and probably not come to Mansfield at 12:30 Clock. But as between Providence and Newport would be a big problem, and it would be a very expensive taxi ride.
Providence last train leaves at 12:39 Mansfield. Comes to Providence at 1:08 clock. How to get from Providence to Newport exclusively with the taxi on the runway not hours, but not by Ript. Remember that the 3 m from the Big Woods (which I is not named Comcast Center!) And the Mansfield station and taxis do not stop the concerts.
